Privacy Policy
gtools is a set of small, personal Google Workspace tools that run entirely inside your browser. There is no server, no account system, and no database. Nothing you connect it to is ever transmitted to us, because there is nowhere for it to be transmitted to.

Each gtools app asks Google, in your browser, for the one narrow scope it needs to do its job, reads that data directly from Google's API, shows it to you, and keeps any working copy on your own device. It never sends your data to a server, because gtools doesn't have one.
Who runs this
gtools is a personal project built and maintained by an individual developer, published at gtools-lab.emergence.md. It is not a company product, and it is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC.

What data gtools accesses
gtools is a collection of separate small apps. Each one requests only the Google OAuth scopes it needs, and only when you open that app and choose to sign in:

Each app requests only the scope(s) listed for it — never the full set. No scope is requested until you open that specific app and sign in.
Where that data goes
Nowhere but your browser and Google. Every request goes straight from your browser to Google's API servers over HTTPS, and the response comes straight back. gtools has no backend server, no API of its own, no analytics pipeline that touches your Workspace data, and no third-party data processor. No one but you ever sees the contents of what these apps read.
Some apps keep a working copy on your own device so the page doesn't have to re-fetch everything on every visit:
- Tasks keeps a sync copy of your task lists in localStorage, to support search across all lists.
- Your OAuth access token is held in localStorage for each app, alongside its own expiry — roughly an hour, after which it is discarded and a new one has to be requested. Signing out deletes it immediately.
None of this ever leaves your device.
How to delete it
- Erase the local copy — clear site data for
gtools-lab.emergence.mdin your browser settings. This removes any cached data and the stored token. - Revoke access entirely — visit your Google Account permissions page and remove gtools. This invalidates the token immediately.
Because gtools holds nothing on a server, there is no deletion request to send and nothing for anyone else to delete on your behalf.
Google API Services Limited Use disclosure
gtools's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
In particular, gtools does not:
- transfer Google user data to any third party;
- use Google user data for advertising, or serve ads of any kind;
- sell Google user data, under any circumstances;
- allow anyone to read Google user data on its behalf — there is no server, so it never leaves your device;
- use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized or non-personalized artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
Site analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is cookieless, sets no identifiers, and collects no personal data — only aggregate page-level counts. It is entirely separate from the Google data path described above and cannot see anything about your Workspace data.
gtools sets no advertising or tracking cookies.
Children
gtools is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially — in particular if a scope is ever added — the change will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date before it takes effect.
